Miss Fame RUBBER DOLL Review

Hello, Beautifuls.
I am sure it will come as no surprise to many of you that I am a huge Drag fan. I grew up idolising the club kids of the 80s/90s and the infamous Divine. Of course, I absolutely adore the new direction that drag is taking as an art form and to me, no one embodies the new drag better than the legendary Miss Fame.

Fame is a highly successful makeup artist with a flourishing following on YouTube and she recently appeared on the seventh season of RuPaul's Drag Race. Having recently left the competition she has just released her first single titled RUBBER DOLL.

Of course, Miss Fame is painted to perfection in the video. She is without a doubt a stunning queen. Arguably one of the most beautiful in existence. The outfits, makeup and hair are without fault.

The song itself is produced to perfection. Every beat is flawless. Fame's vocals are perfect for the track and there is some clever wordplay used within the lyrics.

What do you think of Miss Fame's music debut? Let me know in the comments below....it's Beyond This Planet Beautiful.

My Skin Peel Experience

Hello, Beautifuls!
Today I am wanting to talk about something that has revolutionized my skin, Salicylic Acid skin peels.

Salicylic Acid is a beta hydroxy acid which is commonly used in skin care to treat oily or blemish prone skin. Skin peels work by causing a mild trauma to the top layers of the epidermis causing the skin to heal itself, revealing fresh, new cells and clear pores.

I do not have amazing skin. It is combination and dehydrated. This means I have areas of dryness, oiliness, break outs and dry patches. All in all it is a anatomical nightmare. So in my effort to normalize my skin tone and type I decided to try chemical peels.

The basic principal of a chemical peel is a solution of either an alpha or beta hydroxy acid and IPA is applied on to the skin for an allotted ammount of time before being neautralized with a strong alkaline. This is repeated once a week for an allotted number of weeks.

Skin peels are not a miracle fix by any means. However after a six week treatment I have seen a drastic transformation in the tone, condition and appearance of my skin. I would reccomend thoroughly reseaching skin peels BEFORE trying one as they can cause severe damage to the skin. Also if you intend to do a skin peel at home make sure you buy only from a trusted seller.

Manic Panic Purple Haze Review

Hello Beautifuls!
Today I want to talk to you about one of my favourite hair colour brands, the legendary Manic Panic.

I have used many of their colours personally and professionally and I always swear by their AMPLIFIED and classic formulas. They have such an array of colours and they are all mixable and fully customizable. Manic Panic are cruelty free and are highly conditioning and don't damage the hair.

I love using the darkest, AMPLIFIED colours on my unbleached hair. They add a lovely condition and undertone to the hair without stripping or changing your natural colour. I have used and loved the AMPLIFIED version of the legendary Vampire Red for years and swear by it. So I thought I would give the equally popular Purple Haze a try.

The first thing I noticed was the formula is not as richly pigmented as Vampire Red. I also experienced slightly more bleeding with this colour.

I apply the colour to slightly damp hair (just washed, NOT conditioned) and then cover in cling wrap. I leave it on my hair for anything between two to six hours, applying head occasionally.

It left my hair feeling really nice. It also added a lovely purple hue to my unprocessed hair. I did find this colour didn't give as drastic of a colour change as Vampire Red, however red is naturally found in the hair so red pigments will always be more visible.

I do really like this dye a lot. It isn't my favourite from Manic Panic, however it does look STUNNING on bleached hair.

#BoycottLimeCrime My Opinion On Lime Crime

Hello Beautifuls!
Before I start this post I want to insert the following disclaimer. *All opinions herein are my own. I am only stating what has been reported to me as fact by reliable and official parties and I refuse ANY legal responsibility for any offence caused to the company. This blog is my legal property and I reserve the right to publish what content I wish.*

It is fair to say few things have rocked the online beauty community as much as the brand Lime Crime has.
Lime Crime has always caused a divide amongst the online community, the people that loved it REALLY loved it and the ones who hated it REALLY hated it.

However Lime Crime were recently embroiled in a serious security scandal. Putting it bluntly their website was hacked last year which risked the personal and financial details of all their customers. However, in an act of appalling business management they did not notify their customers of this until FEBRUARY this year! Despite customers telling them on social media people had stolen money from their bank accounts.

This is absolutely disgraceful and as a business owner myself I am disgusted.

Another fact about Lime Crime (ignoring the fact that their eyeshadows are simply repackaged Mica Pigments) is that the quantity of product they supply to their young market base is an absolute bad joke. For example their Velvetines contain a measly 3g of product compared to 5g from a lot of their competitors. (Jeffree Star Cosmetics, Illamasqua, Melt Cosmetics, NARS, Pretty Zombie Cosmetics, Lunatik Cosmetic Labs, Kryolan etc).

I am yet to meet a professional and qualified make-up artist who will touch Lime Crime make-up. Their business reputation is appalling. They have also reportedly taken legal action against bloggers who give the company a negative review.

There are some amazing articles and videos online detailing the companies shady past so I really recommend checking those out to further educate yourself.

This post is only my opinion. However I will be removing all previous Lime Crime posts from my blog as I wish to give this company no further promotion.

Spring Favourites

Hello my beautifuls!
So I am now back to regular posting this year which I am thrilled about. I am so excited now that spring 2015  is officially upon us! Although I am an autumn/winter lover I do always look forward to the longer days of spring!

Today I thought I would share with you some of my favourite things at the moment!

BEAUTY:
LUSH Cosmetics: Dirty Springwash Shower Gel.
I am yet to be completely 100% blown away by Lush Shower products and to me spending £4.75 on 100g of shower gel borders obscene. However, I do really love the scent of Dirty Springwash. It is just perfect for the spring and summer as it has a lovely cooling and invigorating sensation on the skin. It smells of lovely fresh mint with a hint of menthol so I do use this a lot when I have a headache or cold. You can also use this shower gel as a shampoo as well but I am yet to try this.

Embryolisse: Lait Creme Concentre.
This product is a favourite of mine all year round anyway, both personally and professionally. However I am still yet to review it on my blog (which will change soon!). I ADORE this moisturiser as it suits every skin type and has SO many uses. This moisturiser creates the PERFECT base for make-up (far superior to any silicone based primer) and makes the skin look absolutly gorgeous. It can be found in the kit of nearly every makeup artist across the world (including my own.)

M.A.C: Face & Body.
Like the Embryolisse this product is a year round favourite of mine professionally. However for the spring and summer it really is a legendary, unmatched product. Water Based and waterproof it is a sheer coverage foundation with a trick up it's sleeve. You can alter the coverage of this foundation by really buffing it into this skin. This changes the texture taking it from sheer to medium coverage. How cool is that??!

Illamasqua: Gleam Supernatural.
I love cream highlighters (and cream products in general). But the Gleam Creams from Illamasqua are absolutely gorgeous. The shade Supernatural is a bronzed gold which looks gorgeous on all skin tones for a light sun kissed glow. It highlights the face beautifully and looks much more natural than powder bronzer. It looks stunning when lightly swept over the cheeks, cupids bow and brow bone with a soft, synthetic brush.

ENTERTAINMENT:
TV: RuPaul's Drag Race Season 7.
Image From logotv.com
Take a seat Hunty. Drag Race is back for its SEVENTH season. I never watch Television but this program is an obsession of mine. I first got in to it during Season Four and was captivated by the American Drag Scene and the contestants on the show *cough* Sharon Needles *cough*. I find it amazing how one program has shaped the Drag scene worldwide and has become such a global phenomenon. Grab yourself a Cosmo, blend your TV Paint Stick Foundation and  sit down and enjoy the viewing gold that is RuPaul's Drag Race.

Music:
Fall Out Boy : American Beauty / American Psycho.

There is a high chance most of you will have already heard how amazing this album is. It is everywhere at the moment. It is great to see a rock band doing so well and getting so much attention and let me tell you this album is an instant classic. The vocals, production and lyrics are all completely faultless. If you haven't heard this album I encourage you to check it out.

YouTube: Joseph Harwood
As someone who doesn't watch much in the way of TV and films I spend a lot of my time on YouTube. One of the things I am obsessed with is finding and watching underground or alternative talent. Someone I have been subscribed to for a long time and have been inspired by for years is the incredible Joseph Harwood. Joseph Harwood is a freelance make-up artist, model and YouTuber who produces incredible quality YouTube videos on make-up, skincare and tags. He is also a highly credible authority on makeup and skincare so I really highly recommend checking out his channel!

So that concludes this months favourites!
I will see you soon with more content.
Take care.
R.W xx
