Exo Terra Habisphere Review Update

About ten months ago I posted a long review video of the then brand new Habisphere terrarium by Exo Terra. As the months have passed my opinions have changed and I thought before I moved home it was the perfect time to update you on the tank! 

The original video covers the tank in more detail, including its size, specifications and details. This post is going to be more of my personal experiences with this terrarium, how I have it set up, any visible wear and tear or problems I have had. 

Clinique: Pep Start Eye Cream Review

Hello Dolls. 

I am really excited to share one of my all time holy grail products with you. I speak  as someone who is horrifically prone to under eye creasing; which means I have to bake my under eye with a ton of powder, which can look really dry really quick. 

Enter Pep Start. It's a really lightweight cream with an emollient texture. It contains  moisturising ingredients to hydrate the eye area without being too heavy; as well as seven different peptides to help combat signs of aging. 

It also contains light reflecting pigments to help brighten discolouration. 

I love how concealer applies over this product. It gives enough hydration that concealer won't look parched. Even with a heavy bake. Yet, it isn't oily enough that it slides around. 

 The texture of Pep Start is so light you can actually apply it over makeup without it affecting how it looks. I wouldn't advocate this if you set your concealer with powder as you will find it can remove the pigment. 

If you're looking for a light eye cream to prep for makeup this is a fantastic option which lacks common irritants like fragrance. It's also affordable at £22.

Whiteout (Medusa) Sclera Review

I am so excited to share with you this amazing pair of whiteout sclera lenses that are from Scleraxl.com

The first thing I want to mention is how amazing the service ScleraXl provides is. They dispatched these lenses Monday at 20;30 from the Netherlands and they arrived on my door in the UK Thursday at 14:55.

The contacts were packaged very securely in a sturdy box filled with bubble wrap so there was no risk of breakage during transit. Inside the box was the contact lenses, a large sclera case, a standard sized lense case, a bottle of multi purpose lens fluid and contact lens safe eyedrops.

In ten years as a makeup effects artist ScleraXL is the only company to have provided lens fluid and eyedrops with sclera lenses. I am so highly impressed with the lengths they went to.

The lenses themselves look AMAZING. They are so creepy and striking that you can’t NOT notice them.

I have not worn sclera lenses personally for about two years. I have put them in for numerous performers, actors and models during that time so I am highly familiar with the technique but they are still not the easiest thing to get in. However, the second time I wore them I got them in within five minutes so they are not that challenging if you know what you are doing and take your time.

The lenses feel so comfortable in. They are in no way uncomfortable or drying. You are obviously aware there is something unfamiliar in the eye but they are not painful or uncomfortable at all.

With the correct care and use these lenses have a lifespan of 1 year so, in my opinion you really get your money's worth out of them.

They are perfect for so many makeups like Jeff The Killer, evil dolls, clowns, possessions, demons, an unconventional vampire makeup, werewolves, witches. The list goes on. I love how dramatic the style is but because it is so simple they lend themselves to so many characters.

Jeffree Star Cosmetics Deep Freeze Review

Welcome back!

Today I am so excited to be talking about one of my all time favourite things... HIGHLIGHT. 

Metallic highlighting is such a staple of dramatic makeup looks now and there are so many exciting new products launching on the market. I remember back in the early days of my career I would often use foiled eyeshadows and loose pigments to create unusually coloured sheens on the cheeks. 

I am so excited the beauty industry has changed enough that brands have the balls to make highlighters this colour. 

I have been a huge fan of Jeffree's skin frosts since they launched, they are such amazing value for money as you get fifteen grams of product in the pan. That is HUGE compared to every other big selling powder highlight on the market. 

The compact is massive, it feels well made and sturdy to hold.

In the pan the Deep Freeze is a gorgeous true blue with a silver shift to it in the light. It is aptly named, it is the sort of blue you'd think of when describing a freezing december morning. 

The formula of the skin frosts is one of my all time favourites. It is a creamy feeling powder which is ultra pigmented and sits gorgeously on all skin types. I am yet to find a foundation or powder they don't work with and if you apply them with a dampened brush... holy Terminator cheek. 

On the skin the highlighter takes on a lighter, more silver tone. Think of a frozen over lake. It is pretty damn cool. 

It is so far from a natural highlight, as blue is not a pigment naturally found in the skin. However that doesn't mean that you can't make this look really cool if you blend it right and don't take it too far into the cheek bone.

One of my favourite ways to use this shade is over dark matte lipsticks. The effect is amazing! 

It also looks awesome as an eyeshadow or over body paint! There are so many awesome uses for colours like this if you step out your comfort zone!

Welcome Back

It is a very surreal experience to be posting on this blog after my one year hiatus. This site is so close to my heart. It is what launched my career as a blogger back in 2011 and changed my life in ways that still blow me away to this day. 

 It is scary how much my life has changed since I started this project in 2011. It is a huge regret that once things became harder for me personally I felt myself distancing myself from my work, my creative outlets, the team of people who worked with me on this site and my love of sharing my passion with the world. 

 I regret closing doors on this site and turning down opportunities. I regret souring flourishing relationships with the label who helped my indie blog turn into a site with 1.8M worldwide readers but I am so proud to be back in a headspace which allows me to want to share my love and years of experience with the world again. 

 I am touched that even after a year away fifty thousand of you remained here hoping to see new content. Thank you to everyone who has messaged me over this year of inactivity checking I am okay, it really has touched my heart. 

 I am happy.

 I am safe.

 I am back to weekly posting.
