Kryolan TV Paint Stick Review

I am back after a brief hiatus! 

Today I am talking about one of my all time favourite products as a makeup artist and make-up fan. The legendary TV Paint Stick by Kryolan. If you do not know who Kryolan are they are the ORIGINAL film and theatre make-up brand and they are one of the only brands on earth who formulate and make their own products (as well as the products for a ton of other brands).

TV Paint Sticks are the fullest coverage possible. They are a insanely pigmented cream foundation in stick form. They are butter soft and blend like nothing else you could imagine.

The formula is silky soft and glides onto the skin like a dream. It feels very creamy on the skin and does need to be set with a LOT of loose powder to hold it in place, but once it is set it will not go anywhere. 

Each stick offers 25ml of foundation and a little goes a long way. 

These products were designed for stage and screen use. They are very heavy and I would not recommend these for daily wear as their formula would certainly cause breakouts. 

These foundations have a HUGE history in stage and screen makeup. They are hugely popular for celebrity and drag makeup as they offer unmatched coverage and look stunning on camera. 

Here you can see how opaquely they swatch on the skin (6W Top and 3W bottom). They are a dream to contour with as they blend seamlessly making it SO easy to create highlight and shadows. 

I honestly believe these are one of the best products for makeup artists to have in their kits. Their versatility and coverage is unmatched. They are £13.50 from Kryolans website or Charles H Fox in Covent Garden. 

Bentley Organic Mint Lip Balm Review

Today I am talking about a type of product I am obsessed with, I literally adore them and am the first to admit I have a bit of a problem with buying them. I am talking about lip care products and today I am talking about the best I have EVER come across. 

This product is by the british brand Bentley Organic who make Organic hair, body skin and home care products. They make their lip balm in two scents (flavours?) Mint and Strawberry. I personally loathe Strawberry scented things so I opted for mint. 

The product has a very unique texture for a lip balm. It melts very quickly onto your fingers and applies more like an oil than a balm. It is very highly moisturising and glides onto the lips beautifully. It is slightly shiny but it dies down very quickly. It is completely non sticky which is a HUGE plus! 

The mint scent smells completely natural and delicious, it also feels pleasantly tingly on the lips. 

This product is organic, cruelty free, vegetarian friendly and formulated without harsh synthetic flavourings or colours.

Inika Mineral Foundation Powder Review

Today I am reviewing a product from the cruelty free and organic make-up brand Inika. It is a finely milled loose mineral powder which offers SPF 20 sun protection. 

Shade: Nurture

You get 8g of the loose powder which is packaged in a plastic jar with a sifter top. The packaging is basic but functional, although I would fault it for dispensing too much product making it not hugely travel friendly. 

This is how the product itself is described:

Inika minerals are also very resistant to water and a great option for those who like to wear makeup when exercising, going to the beach or swimming.

Inika is suitable for those with allergies, chemical sensitivities, rosacea, acne, scarring, pigmentation, and for people who have just undergone cosmetic facial treatments. With Inika foundations you will always look fabulous and won't even feel as though you are wearing makeup! "

The product is described as three in one, you can use it as a foundation, concealer or setting powder. It acts beautifully as a foundation on freshly moisturised skin. It offers sheer-medium coverage which nicely covers redness on the skin and helps disguise blemishes. You can also use a fluffy concealer brush to apply more product under the eyes to cover dark circles and blemishes. Over all it offers a lovely, workable coverage which glides over the skin and minimises pores. It also makes the skin look fresher and more "awake". 

This product is PERFECT for sensitive skin or people who suffer heavily from breakouts. There are no skin clogging silicones or heavy pigments in this product, just natural mineral pigments. 

They have a range of roughly eight shades and the one pictured is called Nurture, which should be a good match for most medium caucasian skin tones. 

As a make-up artist I love using this product for screen make-up and both female and male make-ups as it looks undetectable on camera. 

You can see from this photo what a soft, luminous finish it gives the skin, it doesn't fully cover extreme redness but using a light concealer first would eliminate this.
