Makeup Revolution Scandalous Lip Collection Review

Hey darlings.
Today I am reviewing the complete Scandalous Lip Collection by the relatively new brand Makeup Revolution.
I got SO excited when I heard of this brand and even more excited when I saw this collection of brightly coloured lip sticks. You can imagine my excitement when I discovered I could get all FIVE colours for £4!!
The collection consists of Vice (Pumpkin Orange) Immoral (bubblegum blue) Crime (Bright berry pink) Felony (NY Taxi Yellow) and Depraved (bright blue toned violet).

The packaging reminds me a LOT of the MUA lipsticks except with these the little pot of colour is on the top of the tube rather than the bottom.

Left to right: Depraved, Vice, Crime, Felony and Immoral.

The colours are true to how they looked on the site. All looking bright and beautiful. Whilst Felony and Immoral are not going to be standard day wear for about 85% of the population they are brilliant for clubbing and photoshoots.

This is how the colours look swatched. Vice, Depraved and Crime are all incredibly pigmented and creamy. They really feel and look like they are worth £15 rather than £1 each. Felony and immoral are harder to review.

Felony: (yellow) is VERY chalky and sheer in pigmentation. It highlights every little dry patch on your lips and shows up cracks you never knew you had. It would be a disaster to use for photographic work.

Immoral: (bubblegum blue) is much more pigmented than Felony and far smoother. However it does feel mildly drying. This would be a fantastic dupe for No She Didn't by Lime Crime however it isn't as pigmented or as creamy.

Depraved: (violet) HOLY CRAP. I LOVE this colour. It's a gorgeous bright violet shade that is creamy and opaque in one swipe. It is long wearing and genuine purple lipstick perfection. Seriously. Buy. It.

Crime: (Bright Berry Pink) Although this is quite a dark pink it is INSANELY bright. It applies like a dream and is gorgeous and opaque. Another one I LOVE.

Vice: (pumpkin orange) This really appeals to the Sharon Needles inside me. It would be perfect for a Halloween inspired make-up look (pumpkin eyes and lips? Erm..YES) but equally perfect for everyday wear for the autumn and winter. It is certainly one of the most pigmented shades (second only to Depraved) and is very long wearing. I am going to get a lot of use out of this colour.

I can't recommend these colours enough. You can buy the whole collection for £4 on their online store. They are really high quality colours and Vice, Depraved, Crime and Immoral certainly match the likes of Lime Crime and Illamasqua lip sticks on pigmentation (although maybe not formula and creaminess)

Lime Crime Velvetines VS MUA Luxe Lip Lacquers

Hey dolls.
This is a post I have had a tone of requests for as I use both of these products a lot in my work.
This is an honest comparison of Lime Crime's Velvetines and MUA's Velvet Lip Lacquers. There is a HUGE price difference between these products (£10.50 to be exact) so I was very interested to see how they compare.

I have the MUA Lip Lacquers in Kooky (dark purple) and Criminal (hot pink) and the Lime Crime Velvetines in the insanely popular shade Red Velvet (bright blue based red).

Both are packaged in similar tubes with doe foot applicators but I was VERY shocked to discover you get more product in the MUA tubes. Shocking considering the velvetines are over £10 more expensive.

I found the applicator on the Velvetine gives much more precise application which is needed as the velvetines are a thinner consistency. (Which can be a bonus depending on your preference).

Here are some swatches of the colours. Red Velvet by Lime Crime on the top. MUA's Kooky in the middle and MUA's Criminal at the bottom.

All three are equally opaque which really shocked me. MUA's Lip Lacquers are much more of a cream than a liquid and take around five minuets to fully dry. Lime Crimes Velvetines are much more fluid and are dry within two minuets.

Both last incredibly. The only time either will budge is if you eat or drink something very oily (please do not drink oily things as that would be vile).

Now we come to the tricky area of price. You can buy Velvetines by Lime Crime in the UK for £13.50 from www.love-makeup.co.uk however....you can buy MUA's Luxe Lip Lacquers from most Superdrugs on the highs street or online for £3 and I hate to say it there is not a huge difference in quality. Yes the Velvetines look FAR nicer in terms of packaging but paying £10 extra for a pretty box and tube and then getting LESS product feels a bit like a con.

Wella Mirror Polish Review

Hey Guys,
So lately my hair has been pretty damaged. Instead of calling them split ends I have started referring to them as "divorced" . So with that in mind I decided to buy myself a little treat from the salon exclusive brand Wella.

When I trained to be a hairdresser one product stood out for me, Mirror Polish Shine Serum by Wella. It is a lightweight serum that adds unbeatable shine to the hair and leaves it smelling amazing and feeling soft as silk.

You get 40ml of serum in a glass pump bottle. As it is a wella salon product you can only purchase it from a Wella salon or an online supplier. Price does vary a lot depending on where you purchase it.

Butler And Wilson Review

Hey guys,
Today I am reviewing two pieces from the British brand Butler And Wilson.
I am a huge fan of this brand and own a number of their designs.

First thing I have to say is if you are not a fan of statement jewellery this is probably not the brand for you. Everything they make is ostentatious and loud. It is also extremely high quality.

I adore the boxes they package their items in. They look quirky and classic. I am not sure why there is such a size difference in the boxes considering they both contain large necklaces but...oh well.

I went for two of their more "out there" and alternative pendants. One being a very large gem covered coffin and the other a gorgeous eye with an enormous crystal tear drop hanging beneath it.

The eye is beautifully designed and detailed and the teardrop hanging beneath it is crystal clear and stunning when it catches the light.

The other item is a gorgeous crystal encrusted coffin. The front and sides of the pendant is covered with differing sizes of crystals.

Inside the coffin is an embossed skeleton which my camera couldn't capture too well. The coffin locked is fixed with a strong magnetic clasp. I love how weighty this piece feels. It is surprisingly heavy.

Both these pieces are superbly made. I have worn Butler & Wilson's designs for years and I have NEVER had a stone come loose from one of their items. The quality is exceptional.

You can buy their items online or from one of their stores.

Boy Epic

It's my belief that music tells stories and Texas based musician Boy Epic takes that concept to a whole other level with his frankly epic and haunting trilogies.

VERY little is known about Boy Epic personally, his real name and age among other personal details remain a mystery which allows listeners to focus solely on his music.

I first discovered Epic via his YouTube channel and his single "Hell". He has such a unique voice and vocal range and the production on every one of his tracks is second to none.

However it is his recent trilogies "SkyNova" and "Who Is Parker Banks?" that have really caught my eye. Both stand alone short films are superbly directed, the cinematography is beautiful beyond words, the locations are picturesque and of course, the music is phenomenal.

SkyNova is such a beautiful film, shot in Hawaii and superbly acted. The locations are stunning, the story gripping and the three songs are haunting. I refuse to spoil the storyline for this as it is so engrossing you will have to see it for yourselves.

I personally am obsessed with the middle song from this trilogy Chapter Two: Vampire Sunrise. It is such a unique sounding song and the lyrics are intense and romantic.

Boy Epic's latest trilogy is the rollercoaster ride that is: Who Is Parker Banks?
It tells the story of a sex driven, alcoholic and drug abusing young man by the name of Parker who is on his own quest for salvation. The imagery in this film is both explicit and beautiful. Again credit to the cinematographer. Everything is beautifully shot and lit and Epics voice over narrates the story perfectly.

Please be forewarned before watching this film on YouTube, it contains moderate nudity, sexual scenes and explicit drug use. However, Epic makes these scenes part of the story, they are not there to be gratacious. Every scene is vital towards the arc of the story.

The absolute stand out track for me personally is the incredible "Dear World". It is such a heart breakingly personal song and the compisition is beautiful. It is a credit to his talents as a songwriter.

For an artist that found fame online by singing covers of others songs, it is his original tracks that mark Boy Epic out as a true star and a gem in the music industry. Please, support this incredibly talented independant artist. I personally can't wait to see what the future holds for this unique and talented singer.

Dream Eyes Natural Shine Violet Contact Lense Review

*Disclaimer: Although I did not pay for these lenses my opinion is my own and this review is honestly written. I would NOT put my name or recommendation to a product I did not love*
Hey guys,
So the lovely people at SpookyEyes.com were lovely enough to send me a pair of Natural Shine Violet Contact Lenses by Dream Eyes for me to review for you.

First off, a HUGE congratulations to SpookyEyes.com. Their packaging was second to none, when the lenses arrived there was not so much as a crease or tear on the box the lenses were packaged in.

I adore the Dream Eyes packaging, it looks sleek and professional and I would happily use them on any photoshoot I work on. (I am a stickler for nice packaging).

The lenses were securely packaged in saline solution in sterile blister packs.
I really do prefer this kind of packaging over the traditional glass vials. It seems much more sterile to me and it also doesn't have the evil razor sharp metal lids. So 10/10 for packaging.

Now on to THE most important part of coloured contacts. How they look in.

The lenses are a gorgeous shade of dark purple with a burst of bright violet in the center. They are bar far one of the most beautiful pairs of contacts I have seen and certainly the nicest I own. (currently 7 pairs of differing brands).

They look natural but at the same time completely captivating. They certainly make me look far more doe eyed and innocent than I ever could naturally.

They are extremely comfortable and have a high water content. I can honestly say I can not feel them and they are by far the most comfortable pair of contact lenses I have worn.

I adore these contact lenses and a HUGE thank you to SpookyEyes.com for sending them to me. I will certainly be placing an order with them for some special effects photoshoots I am planning they have an INSANE selection.
